I would encourage our pet to understand that she is safe in the home when the men of the house ( one of whom I married, the other of whom I “delivered”) when I, the only other female resident, am stuck at home with her, she WILL survive. She does not need to bark like a coloratura soprano, splitting ear drums while racing wildly around the house making the floorboards shake!

She’s gorgeous, dearly loved, 6 months old dachshund. But I’m 73 ………I am terrified I will trip over her ( knee and hip replacements – me not her ) pacemaker…if that happens, she’ll have to roll me into recover position, ring the ambulance and hope the men get home before I “pass over”!
