“Live as long as I want to and want to as long as I live!”
As a teenager I thought the above “quote”was about sex. However, recently, preparing for our oldest male grandchild 21st birthday, I researched the source of the quote.
Of course it’s Irish in origin but I had the quote wrong! “May you live as long as you want and not want as long as you live”
Getting over the shock of getting it wrong forever and even pondering on sex as a Young Catholic Student ( the ’60’s) I have decided that I think the misquote and its message is more appropriate. My hope for him and each of our grandchildren and indeed our own children and even me and Triple L is that we live as long as we want to and want to as love as we live!
Message is “LIVE”!
