What’s something most people don’t understand?
Ok. A post just for my own value here I go!
THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION is not THE VIRGIN BIRTH!
Now get your mind around this!
The first is a reference to the conception of Mary. Procreation by her parents Joachim and Anne. It is the act that resulted in the conception that was free from original sin.
“Oh Mary conceived without sin, pray for us” a line from a hymn from my childhood and a frequently prayed as an aspiration ( a short,sharp prayer. Sometimes the word used for that was “ejaculation”.)
As for “the virgin birth”- well I’m not up to attempting to explain that but it’s been effective as a validation for celibacy for quite a while!
Better stop before I am excommunicated…
