Still here and lucid
Money’s not it.
Fame’s not it!
Celebrity status is not it!
Living this long – that’s it!
I had a great career. Challenging and successful. I went about as far as I was interested in going. I limped away from my career, physically intact , emotionally and psychologically smashed to bits. I was 65.
In retrospect the next 10 years were not exactly brilliant, like a billabong on a river silted up at both ends, still, going nowhere.
But, I am still here and I am seeing through a new lens, well actually two new lenses and the world is bright, colourful, stunning. My Mum had new lenses and never wore glasses again. I am astounded by the depth of colours. The differentiation between shades in the wool I use, the colours around the house. Only challenge now is that the cobwebs on the ceiling and around the light fittings, always attended to by the not so hot domestic goddess, I now see them around the photo wall in the lounge room!
Every day above ground’s an even bigger and brighter bonus!
